Culture-based Program

Ranch Good Days is committed to a program that is relevant and which internally connects our girls as "Girls Ranch Girls". As a culture based prevention and intervention program, our female youth can build once lost trust and loyalty to a home whose focus is to help them. With the assistance of RGD horses, ranch life, and faith activities, Ranch Good Days offers the quality home to which girls feel like they belong. Positive programming strengthens and restores our young women, with emphasis on character attributes like honor, respect, forgiveness, humility, faith, compassion, patience, diligence, gratefullness, generosity, and joy.

With fundamentals of Character building, we see heightened self esteem and confidence; success from ranch lifestyle then spills over to life management and risk avoidance. On more than one occasion, we see our older girls model to the new girls these character attributes, and help those new girls, sometimes even shorten their learning curve as they quickly find out it's the horse and other ranch animals that drives their daily schedule.

Indigenous Culture Program

In addition to RGD prevention and intervention day treatment program, a second, culture-based program is also featured. RGD Indigenous Culture Program was developed out of the recognition that American Indian female youth are the most under served sector in American Society. The goal of the ICP is to enable young Native women to achieve an understanding from the teachings of their Indigenous ancestors. In ICP, the rich heritage and the historical accomplishments of Americans Indians are positively embedded throughout RGD risk avoidance curriculum. Methods of teaching include the use of oral tradition, a cultural teaching method that shares intergenerational knowledge through storytelling. The ICP equine assisted therapy and culture-based curriculum encourages students to want and strive in their education, that success then spills over into their academic education.
